“.. the dietary patterns that will best suit an individual will depend on the amount and intensity of activity. This can range from those who are just starting to get more active, those meeting the activity guidelines (of 150 minutes moderate activity per week), those who are active at higher levels (such as those training for an endurance event such as a marathon or doing organised team sports) or professional athletes.”
Statistics gathered between 2018-2020 by the Government and the NHS, showed that the percentage of people aged 16 and older in England who ate 5 portions of fruit and vegetables on a usual day was 55%. In July 2022, the Government’s “obesity profile” estimated that 25.3% of adults aged 18 and over were living with obesity in November 2020 to November 2021. With obesity being on the rise and the English population still eating too much sugar and saturated fat, now is the time for everybody to update their knowledge on healthy eating.
