We held our first Advanced Weight Training Course for personal trainers yesterday, and what a success it was!
Providing CPD for personal trainers and fitness instructors has always been part of our company business plan and we were recently endorsed by Skills Active so that we can credit our CPD courses with REPS points and give the personal trainers and fitness instructors who attend the opportunity to earn valuable REPS points.
The vibe during the whole course was amazing. The group of personal trainers who attended the course were like little sponges, mopping up all of the knowledge which the course tutor, Chris Baird, was going through.
Chris has put a phenomenal amount of effort into this course, with over 100 hours of reading to produce the course material, so it was great to see everything coming together to enable us to pass this knowledge onto other personal trainers and fitness instructors, all keen to develop their own knowledge and gain CPD points.
The Advanced Weight Training Course has a huge element of practical work involved, not only so we can ensure that anyone who attends can perform the major lifts correctly, but also so that the personal trainers and fitness instructors can gain an insight into the intensity their clients should be working at.
The course covers the key elements of strength training, training to develop power, hypertrophy training and how you can improve your client’s body composition through manipulating various training variables. However firstly, and most importantly, the course looks at how you can assess your client’s strength and power in order to identify which areas of weakness they need to address in order to gain the results they wish to achieve.
We are confident that everyone who attended yesterday’s Advanced Weight Training Course will be able to go away and put what they have learned into practice immediately with their clients and achieve great results.
We received great feedback from everyone who attended the course, scoring 10/10 for all but one of the questions on the feedback form at the end, so a job well done by everyone involved.
